Bearings Studio is the practice of Noura Kamel, a London-based artist. Much of Noura’s work begins with a feeling of being between places. Having lived across the Mediterranean, Europe, and North America, she is interested in how memories of places, colours, light, and experiences travel with us and change over time. Rather than depicting specific scenes, she works through abstraction, using colour, texture, and movement to explore how memories are felt and remembered.
Working across oil pastel, watercolour, charcoal, and mixed media, Noura creates layered compositions that emerge through an intuitive process of making and discovery. Music often accompanies the creative process, influencing the pace, movement, and mood of the work. Each collection begins with a place, memory, experience, or source of inspiration and gradually develops its own colours, textures, and visual language.
